Meet Dr. Ali Iranmanesh, DMD, MD
Doctor Iranmanesh grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended Fremont High School in Sunnyvale. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with minors in Philosophy and Psychology from UC San Diego, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and volunteered as a student health advisor and advocate.
He pursued his dental education at Harvard University School of Dental Medicine, completing the same curriculum as the medical students in his first two years. Dr. Iranmanesh is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. While at Harvard, he participated in two research projects which examined the outcomes in TMJ surgery and the bacterial environment around dental implants. He also completed a rigorous course of study in the School of Public Health, earning both his Master’s degree in Public Health and his Doctoral degree in Dental Medicine in 1997.
Upon graduation, he accepted a position at the Massachusetts General Hospital in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. After a year he was accepted for residency in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of California in San Francisco. The 6-year program combined training in medicine, surgery and anesthesia. Dr. Iranmanesh obtained his medical degree (MD) in 2001 from UCSF and completed his full training in 2004. After a stint as an associate in the practice of Drs. Mead, Whitcher and Alltucker on the Central California Coast, he returned to the Bay Area in May 2006.
Dr. Iranmanesh’s clinical interests include dentoalveolar surgery, anesthesia and implant dentistry. Dr. Iranmanesh is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, having passed the intensive application and examination processes. This certification is a commitment to lifelong learning, keeping current in knowledge and skills, and practicing in a safe and contemporary manner. Dr. Iranmanesh is also an active member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is currently on staff at the John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek Campus and the John Muir Medical Center, Concord Campus (formerly Mt. Diablo Hospital).
